Control Panel Design and Drawings in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Control Panels Company provides control panel design in Saudi Arabia, turning your single-line diagram, I/O list or specification into approved drawings and then building the panel in its Dammam workshop. You receive the layout, schematics, wiring schedules and bill of materials for approval before any metal is cut. The drawings that you approve are the drawings the workshop builds from.
What you receive: a written proposal with the drawing package, standard, lead time and price within one working day of receiving your single-line diagram, load list or specification. Request a quotation

What does control panel design include?
This stage is everything that must be decided and drawn before assembly: the circuits, the devices that make them up, the way those devices fit inside the enclosure, and the proof that the result will carry its load and stay cool. A weak design shows up later as rework, nuisance trips or a panel that does not fit the room.
Our design work covers the power and control circuits, the choice of devices and ratings, the enclosure and its internal layout, the busbar system, the heat balance and the documentation that lets a site electrician install and maintain the panel.
Panel drawings: what we deliver
| Deliverable | What it shows | Standard | Timing |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single-line diagram | Incomers, busbars, feeders, ratings, protection and metering | IEC 61439-1/-2 | Issued for approval before procurement |
| General arrangement | External dimensions, door and gland plate details, weight, cut-outs and base fixing | IEC 61439-1/-2; IEC 60529 for the degree of protection | Issued for approval before procurement |
| Internal layout | Device positions, busbar routes, trunking and clearances | IEC 61439-1/-2 | Issued with the general arrangement |
| Circuit schematics | Power, control, interlock and signal circuits | IEC 60204-1, where specified | Issued for approval before the build |
| Wiring and terminal schedules | Every wire, ferrule, terminal and cable core | IEC 60204-1, where specified | Issued for approval before the build |
| Bill of materials | Make, type and quantity of every component | Per specification | Issued with the schematics |
| Heat-load and rating calculations | Enclosure temperature, busbar and breaker selection | IEC 61439-1/-2 | Issued with the general arrangement |
| As-built set | Final drawings reflecting the tested panel | Per your drawing standard | Delivered with the panel |
Ratings we design to: LV switchboards up to 6,300 A, 380–415 V, 60 Hz, Form 1 to 4b, short-circuit rating up to 100 kA per design verification; MCC panels up to 4,000 A busbar; distribution boards up to 800 A. We specify ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components, or the makes your project requires.
What should I send so that you can design my panel?
You do not need a finished design. Send what you have; we complete the rest.
- the single-line diagram, or a list of loads with kW, voltage and starting method;
- the I/O list and control description, for automation panels;
- the supply data: voltage, frequency, fault level and earthing system;
- the site conditions: indoor or outdoor, ambient temperature, dust and humidity;
- the client or consultant specification and any preferred makes; and
- the space available for the panel, with door-opening and cable-entry limits.
Gaps are listed in a short query sheet with our proposed assumption for each, so you can confirm them in one reply.
How do you size busbars, breakers and cooling?
Selection starts from the load list. We total the connected and diversified load to find the incomer and busbar rating, check each feeder device against its load and cable, and confirm that the prospective fault level at the panel is inside the short-circuit rating of the busbars and devices.
Cooling is then checked, because heat decides whether the chosen rating works in a closed box. Each device releases heat. We add it up, compare it with what the enclosure can dissipate at your site temperature, and add ventilation or cooling where the margin is thin. The results appear in the calculation sheet you can review with the drawings.
How does the drawing approval process work?
- Enquiry. You send the single-line diagram, load list or specification.
- Inputs. We confirm supply data, site conditions and preferred makes.
- First issue. You receive the single-line diagram, general arrangement and device list for review.
- Comments. Your engineer or consultant marks up the drawings, and we answer each comment.
- Approval. The approved revision is frozen and becomes the build reference.
- Build. Procurement and assembly follow the frozen revision. See LV switchboards and custom control panels for the panel types we build.
- Test. The finished panel is checked against the same drawings in panel FAT and testing.
- Handover. You receive as-built drawings, so the documents match the panel on your site.
If you already hold finished drawings, our panel build to print service builds from them directly. For an existing installation without documents, we prepare drawings as part of panel modification and retrofit.
Who designs control panels in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Control Panels Company has worked in Saudi Arabia since 2000 and is approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We have worked on projects for all three, and we hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification. Our our Dallah Industrial workshop in Dammam builds more than 150 panels a month.
Because designers and builders sit in one team, a layout problem is solved at the drawing board with the person who will wire it. Contractors, consultants and plant engineers send us specifications for pump stations, process plants, utilities and industrial buildings. We deliver to every region of Saudi Arabia.
Panel design questions
Who provides control panel design in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Control Panels Company provides panel design and drawings from its Dammam engineering team, linked to its workshop so that every drawing is built and tested in-house. Approval is held from Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission.
What affects the cost of control panel drawings?
The main factors are the number of panels, the complexity of the circuits, the number of I/O points, the level of detail the consultant requires, the number of review rounds and the format of the final drawings. When the design is part of a build order, the drawing cost is shown as its own line in the proposal.
How long does panel design take?
The time depends on the size of the panel, the completeness of your inputs and how quickly your reviewer returns comments. A small panel can be drawn quickly. A large switchboard with several sections and a consultant review takes longer. The proposal gives a dated plan for the first issue and each revision.
What is a panel layout drawing?
A panel layout drawing is a scaled view of the inside and outside of the panel. It shows the position of every device, the busbar and cable routes, the clearances, and the door and gland plate details. It confirms that everything fits and can be reached before the enclosure is ordered.
Can you work from our consultant's specification?
Yes. We read the specification, list each clause against the proposed design, and return a compliance statement with any suggested alternatives. Drawings go to the consultant for approval, and we keep a record of comments and revisions through to the as-built set.
Do you issue editable drawing files?
Yes, where your contract calls for them. We issue approved drawings as PDF for the build record and can provide editable files at handover when the specification requires it. Tell us the format and revision rules when you order.
