What panels does a cooling plant or HVAC system use?
Cooling is the largest electrical load in most Saudi buildings and plants, and it runs at full output through the summer. The panels behind it fall into a short list:
- chiller starter panels, using star-delta, soft-starter or VFD starting;
- chilled-water and condenser-water pump panels, normally duty and standby;
- cooling tower fan panels with variable speed control;
- AHU and fan coil panels, from a single fan to a bank of units; and
- the plant-room MCC and LV switchboard that feed them.
A district cooling plant puts many of these in one building, so panels must fit tight plant rooms, with clear front access and short cable runs.

We build with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components in Rittal enclosures, and we fit your chiller or AHU maker's controller where the equipment supplier specifies one. Terminal blocks for the signals that go to the building controls contractor are laid out and labelled to your drawing.
How do you keep VFD panels cool in a hot plant room?
Size the cooling to the heat the drives release, and not to the panel size. Every VFD gives off heat as a share of its rating. In a plant room at high ambient temperature, that heat must be carried out of the enclosure by filtered fans, a heat exchanger or an air-conditioning unit, depending on dust and the room. Drives also put harmonic currents on the board. We provide line reactors or filters where your design or the drive maker calls for them.
How do you build panels for an HVAC equipment maker?
Treat each design as a product and build it identically every time. If you make air handlers, fan coil units or packaged chillers, you need the same panel on every unit, delivered on a fixed date. We take your drawings and bill of materials, fix them as a reference build, and then assemble each batch to that reference with numbered wires, labelled terminals and a test record for every serial number. Drawing changes are controlled so that a revision applies from a stated unit onwards.
