LV Panel Manufacturer in Saudi Arabia
Saudi Control Panels Company is an LV panel manufacturer in Saudi Arabia, building main distribution boards, sub-main boards and LV switchboards in its Dammam workshop. Boards go up to 6,300 A at 380–415 V, 60 Hz, in Form 1 to Form 4b, with a typical lead time of 3–5 weeks. Each assembly is verified to IEC 61439 and routine-tested before it ships.
What you receive: a written quotation with the single-line scope, form of separation, short-circuit rating, make list, lead time and price, issued within one working day of receiving your single-line diagram or panel schedule. Request a quotation

What is an LV panel and where is it used?
An LV panel is a low-voltage switchboard: a metal-enclosed assembly that receives power from a transformer or generator at up to 1,000 V AC and distributes it through busbars to protected outgoing circuits. In Saudi plants and buildings it normally runs at 380–415 V, three-phase, 60 Hz. As a switchgear panel manufacturer for low voltage, we build switchboards and main distribution boards to IEC 61439 in our Dammam workshop.
The assembly sits at the heart of the electrical system. It holds the incoming air circuit breaker or moulded-case breaker, the busbars, the metering, and the outgoing feeders to motor control centres, process areas, lighting and small power. Because every other load depends on it, an LV panel is specified for current rating, short-circuit withstand and the degree of separation between functional units.
LV panel manufacturer in Saudi Arabia: ratings and scope
The table sets out what we build as standard. Anything outside it is designed to your project specification.
| Panel | Rating | Standard | Lead time |
|---|---|---|---|
| Main distribution board (MDB) | Up to 6,300 A, 380–415 V, 60 Hz | IEC 61439-1/-2 | 3–5 weeks |
| Sub-main distribution board (SMDB) | Moulded-case and air breaker feeders to project specification | IEC 61439-1/-2 | 3–5 weeks |
| Short-circuit rating | Up to 100 kA, per design verification | IEC 61439-1 | Part of the board lead time |
| Form of separation | Form 1, 2a, 2b, 3a, 3b, 4a and 4b | IEC 61439-2 | Part of the board lead time |
| Enclosure | Rittal TS8 and VX25, or local enclosures, IP31 to IP66 | IEC 60529 | Part of the board lead time |
| Factory acceptance test | In-house routine verification; customer or third-party witness welcome | IEC 61439-1 | Included |
We build with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components, and we price the make your consultant has specified. Busbar size, supports and joints follow a verified arrangement, so the temperature-rise and fault-withstand claims on the nameplate are backed by the design file.
What is the difference between an MDB and an SMDB?
An MDB is the main distribution board that takes the incoming supply, and an SMDB is a sub-main board fed from it that serves a floor, a process area or a block of equipment. The MDB carries the highest current and fault level, so it usually has an air circuit breaker incomer and a bus coupler where two transformers share load.
An SMDB is smaller, normally fed by a moulded-case breaker, and distributes to final distribution boards or to individual loads. Many projects need both, and we build the pair to the same drawings standard so their labelling, colour and device makes match. For final circuits, see distribution boards.
Which form of separation do I need?
Choose the form from the maintenance you expect to carry out with the board live. Form 1 has no internal separation and suits simple, low-risk duty. Form 2 separates the busbars from the functional units. Form 3 also separates the functional units from each other. Form 4 adds separation of the terminals, and it is the usual choice when one outgoing circuit must be worked on while the rest stay energised.
The suffixes a and b describe whether the terminals sit in the same compartment as the unit or in their own. Higher forms cost more, because they add barriers, compartments and cabinet width. A short call with your maintenance team usually settles the question faster than the standard does.
How do we build and test an LV switchboard?
- Enquiry. You send the single-line diagram, load schedule and project specification.
- Design. We fix the busbar rating, the form, the short-circuit withstand and the device makes, then issue the general-arrangement drawing and single-line diagram for approval.
- Procurement. Breakers, instruments and busbar material are ordered against the approved bill of materials.
- Fabrication and assembly. Enclosures are assembled, busbars are installed with torque-marked joints and devices are mounted and wired.
- Factory acceptance test. We carry out the IEC 61439 routine verification, with your inspector present if you want one. The method is described under panel FAT and testing.
- Delivery. Sections are packed in transport units, delivered, positioned on the plinth and joined up on site.
- Documentation. You receive as-built drawings, test records and the breaker settings schedule.
If you need the drawing package prepared for you, see panel design and drawings.
Who we build LV switchboards for
Saudi Control Panels Company has worked in Saudi Arabia since 2000 and is approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu. We have taken on projects for all three, and we hold ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification. Our our Dallah Industrial workshop in Dammam builds more than 150 panels a month.
Boards go to industrial plants, utilities, commercial buildings and EPC projects. Contractors who need a vendor with submittal support should read the page for EPC contractors. We deliver to every region of Saudi Arabia, with site response in the Eastern Province inside one working day.
LV panel questions
Who is an LV panel manufacturer in Saudi Arabia?
Saudi Control Panels Company provides LV panel manufacturing in Saudi Arabia from its Dammam workshop, with MDBs, SMDBs and switchboards built with ABB, Schneider Electric and Siemens components. We have been active since 2000 and are approved by Saudi Aramco, SABIC and the Royal Commission.
What affects the cost of an LV switchboard?
The main factors are the incoming current rating, the short-circuit rating, the form of separation, the number and size of outgoing feeders, the make of the breakers, the enclosure and IP rating, and the testing you need witnessed. Send your single-line diagram and we price each item separately.
How long does an LV panel take to build?
A typical LV switchboard takes 3–5 weeks from approved drawings. The range depends on the breaker lead times, the number of sections and how quickly the drawings are approved. Large air circuit breakers are ordered the day the order is confirmed to protect the schedule.
Can you work from our consultant's specification?
Yes. We review your consultant's single-line diagram, panel schedule and technical specification, return a compliance statement with any proposed alternatives, and submit drawings for approval before we start the build.
What short-circuit rating can an LV board carry?
Our boards are built for short-circuit ratings up to 100 kA, according to the design verification of the chosen arrangement. The rating depends on the busbar, the support spacing and the breaker series, so we confirm it against the fault level of your transformer and cable.
What should I send to get a quotation?
Send the single-line diagram or panel schedule, the supply voltage, the incoming current, the fault level at the board and your preferred breaker make. If you have a specification, include it. We reply with a priced scope within one working day.
